Overview

cecco runs on your device and needs no account. There is one optional exception, and it only happens if you choose it: asking the sage a question sends that question to be answered. It is described in full below.

Your reading — the planetary day and hour, the moon’s phase, sign, and mansion, and the content cecco suggests — is computed locally on your device from the date, time, and location you provide. None of that leaves your device, and cecco needs no connection to do it.

We do not use analytics or advertising, we do not track you, and we do not create user accounts.

If you grant cecco access to your device location, it is used on your device to compute your local astrological reading, and is not transmitted or stored off-device. The one exception is a question you ask the sage: your location is sent with it, so the answer can be about your own sky rather than someone else’s.

We do not sell your data or share it with data brokers, and we never use anything we collect to profile or track you.

Crash diagnostics

To find and fix bugs, cecco uses Sentry to collect anonymous crash and error reports. These are strictly diagnostic and not linked to your identity: coordinates, your timezone, and purchase identifiers are stripped on your device before a report is sent, and they carry no account, no name, and nothing that ties a report to you. They are never used to track you or for advertising.

Ask the sage

“Ask the sage” is optional. If you use it, the question you type and the location cecco is set to are sent to our server and passed to Anthropic, which composes the answer.

We do not store your question or your location. The only record we keep of a question is that one was asked and paid for. Your question is never associated with your identity, it is never used for advertising, profiling, or training, and nothing you ask is ever shown to another person. The answer is saved on your device only, and is removed if you delete the app.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by Apple or Google. We never see your payment details. To know what you have bought and how many questions you have left, we keep a record of each purchase and each question against an anonymous identifier issued by our payments provider. It carries no name, no email, and no device location, and we cannot use it to work out who you are.
